This is a soft urban fantasy with adorable characters. I liked it very much. So what is this even about?

Kirin is a born werewolf who somehow finds himself with two soulmates. One he meet when he was fourteen for a glorious night of running and never saw again and one he met fairly recently, but who is a human. His parents had always warned him about mating with humans because they#re so fragile and because they can’t feel the soulmate bond. So Kirin tries to stay away, but isn’t very successful, in fact when he breaks up with his girlfriend it’s Alex’ home he stays at.

Alex is head over heels for Kirin and sometimes thinks Kirin is in love with him too, but Kirin never said anything about liking guys and he had been only dating women until now, so he decides that it’s good enough to just be friends, to have Kirin in his life at all is a miracle.

Enter Gerard. Gothic frontman of a rockband and pretty as sin. He and Alex hit it off, but while Alex thinks it’s because he’s also a singer, Gerard is mostly interested in the werewolf scent that clings to Alex’ clothes, because it reminds him of a summer night a long time ago. At first at least.

I don’t want to go into more detail because I don’t want to spoil it for anyone who wants to read it. It’s a unique enough concept for soulmates and werewolf romance. The writing is good, the editing too. We get all character’s pov, and every one of them is very well fleshed out. Alex is adorable, Kirin is a mess one step away form a nervous breakdown at times and Gerard the voice of reason.  This is a romance, meaning there aren’t any explicit sex-scenes.

It was hard for Kirin to let go, but he knew he had to. Alex was still watching them and he hadn’t said a word while the two of them were hugging like long-lost lovers. Eventually, he did, still smiling at Gerard.

Gerard’s finger brushed his arm, like he didn’t want to let go either. Kirin took a step back, because he could feel the pull. The need to get naked and transform and run with Gerard like they did that one time in the forest and then they would curl up and sleep. Once they woke up and were back to their human forms, well, that was a whole other beast to tackle. Wasn’t it?

“I want to run with you,” Gerard said and Kirin grinned at him nodding, because of course, of course.

“You jog?” Alex sounded slightly confused, amused, too. Gerard wasn’t known for his healthy habits after all. No had ever heard the rock star say he was enjoying sports.

“Not really. Sometimes I like to run.” Gerard blinked at Alex like he had forgotten they weren’t alone.

Kirin felt bad for him, because Alex didn’t know. Being a werewolf wasn’t something you just told people. It wasn’t easy to make something like that understood. People might laugh it off, might call you crazy, might want to lock you up.

Kirin suspected Gerard’s band knew about it. Surely his sister, Mia, his whole family. There was no way to hide something like this from your family for long. He wondered who the rogue wolf was who turned him and realized in the same instance that he was glad Gerard made it through his first transformation. Gerard could have died, could have gone mad. Could have harmed his family or friends. They could have never met. The thought alone made his heart hurt.

“You don’t seem the type,” Alex said, and Kirin focused on him again. Shoving his depressing thoughts aside. Gerard was fine. There was no need to think about the what ifs of the past.

“Because I have a bad smoking habit? And an even worse rock star attitude?” Gerard asked, grinning over his shoulder at Alex.

Kirin wanted to touch him. Wanted to rub himself all over Gerard so he would smell like Kirin. So he would smell like Gerard in return. His fingers itched to pull the man in again.

“Yeah, that too.”

This book is false advertising. It’s a freaking love triangle for roughly 330 of the 400 pages. The female main character I disliked immensely.

But let’s start at the beginning.

Dani has a messed up religiousness upbringing and a shitload of hang-ups about sexuality and her own body. Xane is a rock star god and sex-addict. They’re clearly a match made in hell. Because she has nowhere to go and no money after she leaves her crazy mother, she jumps on the chance to tour with her new hot boyfriend Xane. Things are going okay at first, but then she meats Luther who unashamedly tells her he has the hots for Xane. What Dane doesn’t know is that Xane also has the hots for pretty roadie and drummer Luther. They hooked up once three years ago and it blew Luther’s mind. He fell in love and now he wants that man in his life. The only problem is of course that Xane has a girlfriend now, tries to be monogamous – it’s not going as well as Xane would have hopped. It doesn’t help that Xanes best friend, former lover and drummer of their band died recently. Xane is a messed up character. Dani makes it worse by being bi/homophobic little asshole.

As all of them share one tourbus and are constantly in each other’s spaces it’s hard to not give into temptation.  Xane tries to suppress his lust for men for Dani, Dani tries to bind him to her with sex and Luther just tries to get Xane into bed, but wouldn’t mind if Dani was there with them too. Luther is pretty chill, and by far my favourite character. Even although he’s a stubborn, pushy bastard. At least he’s not lying to himself or Xane and Dani.

Oh, and there is also someone who is constantly sabotaging the band.

This was a tedious read.  Also so much fucking sex. Most of it F/M. And I don’t hate M/F romance/erotica, but this… basically every fucking chapter. If the author cut at least half of it the book would be 100 pages shorter.

As said before it’s not a menage, it’s a love triangle for 330 or more pages. Xane is fucking Dani, and lusting after/kissing/rubbing/touching Luther. Also getting off to thoughts of him while the man is in the same communal shower…
Dani gets all huffy and pissy every time someone so much as mentions Xane’s past male conquests and his bisexuality. She wants him to never look at or desire a man ever again, because she has the fear he’ll leave her for a man. Girl if he leaves you, it’s because you’re a fucking bi-phobic nutcase.

Xane is a mess because his best friend died, his band is kinda falling apart, his girlfriend is…see above, and he fights the attraction to pretty drummer Luther. Also: sex-addiction.

There is also this subplot with Dani’s friend and the band’s guitar player, because of course. And that subplot about someone having it out for the band. Also this minor thing where they look for a replacement for their late drummer.

Somewhere around page 350/360 Xane, Dani and Luther end up in bed and magically Dani thinks it’s hot when the guys touch and fuck each other. Where is the fucking character development?! And then we get an epilogue that’s just ten pages of porn and Dani being apprehensive about seeing Luther again after their break and being a mess because she’s back to being her bi-phobic self.

I hated this book. It took me two weeks to finish it. It’s also the second one in a three part series about Xane and his love-life.

Needless to say I won’t read anything form this series.

I have to give it to the author: the writing is good, the editing too.

But it’s too long, too much het sex, too many subplots and unlikable female character, so nope.

Wanted to relive the memories they shared and just live in the moment for a while. The last few months of his life had been crazy and intense. His whole world had fallen apart, and, though he’d tried to piece it back together, there were still bits of himself that seemed to be missing. He was still so angry over everything that had happened. It was all so raw, too tender to touch. He wanted to fuck and forget, but not with Dani. He didn’t want their relationship to be about anyone but them. No way would he allow Spook or Rock Giant to be right. Using Dani wasn’t an option. Theirs wasn’t a rebound relationship, it was the real deal. He wanted to be with her for the rest of his life. And he was a fool, because, even as he was thinking that, he was incredibly close to doing the one thing that would destroy them for ever. He laughed. Who was he kidding? He was already doing it.

This is a super fun and lighthearted read. It’s also instalove, so if that’s not your thing, move along now.

Ryan is twenty-one and on his very first ever date, which isn’t going very well. Will and Logan had been watching that cutie since he came through the door of the bar and decide to rescue him from that horrible date.

Ryan is flattered, they hit it off and once Ryan excuses himself to the restroom Logan and Will, who are brothers by the way (I feel like some people might find this important) start arguing who is going to ask the boy of their dreams out.

Their solution? You guessed right if it’s both of them.

Ryan isn’t shy about dating them both, he’s thrilled. He’s such a fucking lovable character, I want to bundle him up in blankets and feed him sweets all day. Anyhow, they date, and then they talk about expectations and how Ryan is a virgin and they take it slow-ish. It’s instalove guys, so taking it slow means they start with kissing and handjobs and work up to full on threesomes in only about a month or so.

And then Ryan gets fired by his homophobic boss, but it’s alright, because he can move in with his boyfriends, which he does. And more cute moments and more sex and the end.

Okay, I enjoyed this very drama free book a lot. It’s well written, the characters are fun, Ryan is adorable. Adorable!!! The sex scenes are just spicy enough. Ryan likes dirty talk, the brothers love his filthy mouth.

Also there is double penetration of the one hole two dicks kind, but it’s still not incest, because Will and Logan are not in love with each other and because they always do things as a threesome.

Around 320 pages and on KU as well, if you need something fluffy and soft that makes your heart feel warm.

This is a direct sequel to The Triangle and you should read that one to understand this book. Warning: Spoilers for the last book and this one probably too.

So we left the last book with Christine and Danny finding out that Alec isn’t dead. After months of being alone with her, Danny is finally ready to get Alec back and get to the bottom of this whole shitshow.

Neither Christine nor Alec had told Danny yet why Christine decided to betray Alec and team up with Alec’s younger brother. We get to the bottom of it in this book and…honestly, it’s kind of disappointing.

I don’t even know what to tell you about this book after reading those 360 pages, because not that much actually happened. Alec gets kidnapped, Christine and Danny team up with some people from their past, one of them a former lover of Alec’s, Eliza, whom Alec got pregnant.

So…there is a kid in the mix now for whatever reason.

Anyhow, Alec gets rescued and thinks that his brother, Lars, had him kidnapped and knows about Alec’s kid, and that the child is in danger, so the band decides to kill Lars.

By the end of the book it’s pretty clear that Lars was no the one who kidnapped Alec and that there is another bad guy out there who now has Alec’s and Eliza’s daughter.

So…there will be another book to finish this story and I honestly am not sure I will read it. This one was way too long, so many way too detailed flashbacks for my taste. Then there is the whole kid and pregnancy thing and surprisingly mundane problems of diamond thieves and assassins.

The writing is good, the sex scenes are also well written. I still like the characters, but the plot is…not what I expected and too drawn out when we take into account that there is another book to finish this story with probably another 300 pages. Not feeling it.

Upon closer examination, I can see that it’s just some trees casting Christine- and Danny-shaped illusions onto the earth. But for a moment, it felt as if they were here. Or at least close. I’ve been thinking about them more. Not more than any specific time. It don’t seem fair that Danny was back in both of our lives for less than a proper twenty-four hours before I was ripped away from him again. I wonder if he’s indeed with Christine. I wonder if they’re happy. I’d like that, I think. I’d like it if through me, they found their way back to each other. That would make me happy. It don’t seem fair that I’m here in these silk pyjamas, enjoying a perfectly serviceable bowl of pap and wors while my baby brother is very likely dead at the bottom of a waterfall. Or, more likely, washed away somewhere, never to be seen again. If only he had found it in himself to talk with me, maybe… maybe… fok. At least maybe I could’ve killed him myself. That would feel just and right somehow. Better than the way it all went down, I reckon. Eish, man. But when has anything ever been fair? Come along now, van den Berg. You’re starting to sound like other people.

They decided that Carina can have a date with each of them and then decided who her Valentine’s date will be. On her date with James she brings up threesomes and James to his own surprise doesn’t hate the idea of having one with her and handsome, smart and funny Mark.

Mark is bisexual, so he’s all for that. Anyhow, before they get to the threesomes, there are dates to have and guys to have sex with. But no full penetration that would be disrespectful to her other date… I just can’t with this logic.

I hated this book. James constant monologues about how he always thought of himself as straight, but he guesses he can try to be bi for Mark and let Mark fuck him made me want to quit this book.

Carina is boring as fuck and mostly there to make it happen between Mark and James. Telling James how handsome Mark is and how she would love to have a threesome. This whole set-up with the not handsome, pudgy and also mean and petty co-worker read like a 13 year old wrote it. Because of course ugly people can’t be graceful, smart or funny.

Then there is the writing, which is bad. Just bad. The tenses are all messed up, sometimes even in the same sentence. The sex scenes are boring. The characters too. Editing? Are you kidding me? It’s non existent.

This thing has only 75 pages and I tempted to skip some…

I mean… honestly, I’m here for this.

Anyhow, Julianne is ten years younger than the guys, she’s in massive debt due to her mother’s illness. She also wants to open her own restaurant and get out of town that judges her for liking sex with men. So she says yes.

She figures out pretty fast that someone else is there and coaxes Erik out of the shadows. So the three of them fuck.

And form a connection, so after some drama they go out and then fuck some more. Then more drama, more fucking. So much sex in this books. Honestly.

Mixed feelings about this one. I liked the characters but they could have been fleshed out more. I liked the friendship between the guys (also a must in a heterosexual menage romance), the sex scenes were well written.

But. BUT: the editing is bad. The spelling and grammar are issues as well. Guys are called by the other’s name, shoes that have been red when she gets dressed are suddenly black when they’re about to fuck. And then there is the fact that there is barely any story and that Julianne’s character is basically always horny. I mean the author tells me that she has aspirations and friends and is clever…but honestly what I see is her being always wet and always ready to get naked with them – together or separately. Anywhere even at work while she’s waitressing an event.  And I’m not shaming anyone who wants to fuck for three days straight but from a romance I want more well, romance. This book is roughly 70% sex scenes.

And the ending is kinda meh…it has this damsel in distress aftertaste.

Anyhow 360 pages. (and more books in the series, but not sure I’ll read/review them)

Rory, Spencer and Jack had been together for a year. And Jack had been Rory’s and her fiancee’s Dom. The three of them are doing great, that is until Jack’s business starts failing. Everywhere he looks the door is shut in his face. He finds out why when the mafia approaches him. Jack is on the verge of losing his business and the unfinished home he’s building for his lovers. Maybe even the yacht he bought just months ago.

He’s not a man to be fucked with but the mafia makes it clear it’s either them or no one, and they also threaten the only two people in the world Jack would walk on glass for.

So he reluctantly says yes and lands himself in bed with the Russian mafia.

Of course he wants to keep it a secret form his lovers and subs. But both Rory and Spencer are very attuned to Jack’s moods. They don’t want to push him, but Jack’s getting worse. He withdraws from his Dom duties too. Without an explanation. Jack’s unwillingness to be a Dom to them hits Rory harder than Spencer. They’re both his submissive, but have different needs. Rory needs Jack’s discipline, needs his spankings, needs him to keep her form falling apart when the world demands too much from her. Spencer doesn’t need any of that. He can cope with the pressure of the world, what he needs from Jack is the freedom Jack gives him to submit to a man. To let  man do whatever the hell he wants to Spencer.

The fact that Rory and Spencer are getting married complicates things, because Rory’s parents think Jack is just a phase for them and once they’re married they’ll be a couple again and kick Jack out of their relationship. Rory’s mom likes to be in her business, so she’s basically planing her own dream wedding instead of Rory’s.

Of course things turn out okay for the three of them in the end and after all they’ve been through in this book they deserve it.

I liked this book a lot too. Especially because you hardly see a Dom struggling to be a Dom. All of them are people with different needs, but the outside world is demanding too and sometimes you just don’t have the energy to be on for your sub. This book also shows how bad things can get of people don’t communicate. And Jack is a rel piece of work here. Refusing to open up.

This book has more D/s scenes and they’re less playful than in the first. This is the progression of their story after all, so both Rory and Spencer accepted being Jack’s subs, so much so that they’re collared. By the end of the book they’re all very open about it with family and friends and some readers might find it too much.

The book is well written, we get all three pov’s. Editing could be better. The sex scenes are hot. It’s not hardcore S/M. It’s hardly S/M to be honest, because neither of them are sadistic or masochistic. Spanking, edging and orgasm delay/denial are the most common forms of punishment in this one. Sometimes restraints too.

If that meant he would take on the role of Dom until Jack got his shit together, then so be it, right? He would do it for Rory. Only a blind man could ignore what she was going through. D/s scenes with Jack were hot, but Spencer didn’t need to play the way that Rory did. The gaping hole it had left in her life was hard to miss. Spencer wasn’t an idiot. But where to start? Spencer hadn’t ever laid a finger on Rory that wasn’t a caress. The spanking she longed for was going to be hard to give. He knew himself well enough to be sure of that.

Jack turned his head sharply toward Spencer for only a second.
Spencer waited for him to protest, to say that he wouldn’t stand for that. He wanted to hear Jack say Spencer was crazy if he thought that he would let them drive upstate tonight without him. He wanted Jack to make the choice, to come clean about what was causing him to stop being the Dom she counted on.
“Whatever, Spencer. I’m tired anyway.”
Spencer swallowed hard on that response.
Rory didn’t need another night second-guessing herself. If Jack couldn’t give them any answers, then Spencer would focus on easing her suffering himself. He knew what she needed. Tonight it wasn’t Jack, not the way he’d been acting.
